The International Nanotech Hub, Thessaloniki is a high-tech innovation ecosystem. Organic Electronic Technologies (OET) is leading the creation of the world’s first production plant for 3rd generation photovoltaics. These photovoltaics are semi-transparent, flexible, and lightweight. They can be used in a wide range of applications — for example, in greenhouses — delivering impressive results such as up to 30% increase in production, energy and water savings, and reduced use of cultivable land. They can be integrated into any surface, including building windows, offering unobstructed visibility while blocking harmful UV radiation, creating natural shading, and lowering indoor temperatures during summer.
